comfort food

After a weekend fever, Alice still has a bit of sicky breath.

What a thing.

To be so closely connected to a person, you can tell by the smell of her breath she isn’t feeling quite right.

When I picked her up from day care this afternoon, I was told she didn’t seem very interested in her purees. I have noticed the same recently, so for dinner, we shared some chicken soup with rice.

Sometimes Alice takes her meals in the command center.

There’s supposed to be some science behind all of that, right?

But what if it isn’t enough? What if she reaches up for you with both little arms like, soup is nice and everything, but all she really wants is to be picked up?

Well, then you pick her up, of course. And make do as best you can with just the one arm. That’s all I can figure.
