Two years ago, she was just a baby.

Today, she saw that picture, and she said, “Remember when I was just a baby?” I do.

Last year, there was still a lot of the baby left.

New Year’s Day 2013

This morning, she and I woke up early enough to watch the Rose Parade from under a blanket in the living room. “All those floats?”I tried to explain, “they’re all covered in flowers.” I’m not sure she was impressed, but there were some cowgirls she liked and a couple of marching bands.

Later she led a parade of stuffed animals into the kitchen, and just now, before bath time, she is asking us to help her count down from 10, so that she can throw up her arms and shout, “Happy New Year!” one more time.

This year is going to be a big one for us. Gigantic. We’re ready.
